Email Security and Digital Sovereignty: Opportunities through your own Domains and Top-Level Domains

ICANN Org, IPB Internet Provider Berlin & eco – Association of the Internet Industry

invite you to a panel discussion on Wednesday, 19 November on the topic of ‘Email Security and Digital Sovereignty: Opportunities through Own Domains and Top-Level Domains,’ followed by a reception.

Control over digital identities and communication channels is becoming increasingly important for companies and organisations, as well as cities and regions. Own domains and top-level domains (TLDs) are more than just addresses on the internet – they are a strategic tool for digital sovereignty, security and trust.

In an exclusive panel discussion, we bring together experts from politics, business and technology to shed light on key issues:

  • What role do proprietary domains and TLDs play in digital resilience?
  • What advantages do proprietary TLDs offer specifically for email security – for example, through better enforcement of standards such as SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and through the clear distinction between legitimate senders and phishing domains?
  • What opportunities do domains and TLDs open up for sovereignty in the digital space?
  • How do own domains strengthen provider independence by enabling free choice and switching of digital services?
  • What best practices already exist – nationally and internationally?

Please note that space is limited and registration is required to access the venue.

The event will be held in English.

We look forward to your participation!
